Get YouTube Transcript is a privacy-first browser extension. It operates entirely locally in your browser and does not collect, store, transmit, or share personal data.
What We Collect
Nothing.
The extension does not collect:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Authentication information (passwords, credentials, PINs)
- Location data
- Financial or payment information
- Web history or browsing activity
- Analytics, telemetry, or tracking identifiers
- Stored copies of YouTube transcripts or video content
How the Extension Works
The extension runs only on YouTube video pages and only when you explicitly use it. When you choose to extract or copy a transcript, the extension reads caption/transcript data already present on the YouTube page and performs the requested action locally.
No transcript data is retained by the extension after the action completes, and nothing is sent to any external service.
Clipboard Access
The extension uses clipboard access solely to copy the transcript when you click the copy action. The extension does not read from your clipboard and does not access the clipboard without user interaction.
Third-Party Services
Get YouTube Transcript does not use analytics services, advertising networks, trackers, remote code, or third-party APIs.
Data Sharing
No data is sold, transferred, or shared with third parties.
Changes to This Policy
If the extension’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before any new practices take effect.
